The creation and name of the restaurant 1500B.C. is inspired from our history. In the distant 1500 B.C., one of the largest volcanic eruptions in the world took place in Santorini. This resulted in the destruction of the island and the beginning of the decline of the Minoan civilization. As time healed the wounds created by the volcano, the historic Caldera was created, a landmark of the island and of the whole world!

The restaurant 1500 B.C. is located in the historic Fira, overlooking the Aegean Sea at an altitude of 250m above sea. It looks directly at the golden sunset every day and creates images that remain engraved in your memory. 1500 B.C. symbolizes moments through the passing of the years… and such moments are offered to you from sunrise to sunset!

Despite the fact that I come from a mountainous area, from Parnassus of Central Greece, Santorini won me over and I fell in love with the island at first sight. After more than 30 years in the field of Greek cuisine and having travelled around the world, roads led me to this island and to 1500B.C. I welcome you and I hope you fall in love with it, as I did when I met my wife on the doorstep of the restaurant …

We were walking by the restaurant like tourists do and the manager, Maikis, was so nice to us; I can say he and his team were very attentive. The food was incredibly delicious! I tried the sea food pasta one night and the salmon squid ink pasta the following night which was accompanied by an apple martini on point and a great jazz band live music. My husband tried the traditional lamb Souvlaki recommended by Maikis and it was great!!! But the following day, he ended up eating the sea food pasta because he loved it. Additionally, they provide a blanket if you are cold and the sunsets here are very beautiful.

My wife and I visited the wine bar above the restaurant during our honeymoon. I wanted to say how fantastic a host George was. The wines were delicious and George was excited to share in his knowledge of the wines. He had fantastic recommendation for our evening, and went above and beyond to provide fantastic service, including blankets, and allowing us to move closer to the heaters they had above after the sunset.

After visiting this restaurant , all i have to say is that i am impressed by the food, really tasty, the stuff is really nice and kind. The food in combination with the magnificent view made our night unforgetable.

This large restaurant on Fira has wonderful views from both dining rooms .very extensive menu featuring innovative seafood and salad dishes as well as plenty of Mediterranean specialties. Great wine and cocktail list! Very attentive wait staff.

I visited 1500BC for dinner and was more than happy with my decision to dine there... the food was excellent, the staff were friendly and attentive and of course, the view was incredible. I only read previous reviews after I had been there and although, yes, I was charged for the water and dips as other reviews have mentioned, it didn’t bother me. Based on everything else - the food, the service, the view and the experience overall, it was a Santorini treat and I would definitely recommend this place to others and also return there myself again. Thanks 1500bc for a great memory.
