The creation and name of the restaurant 1500B.C. is inspired from our history. In the distant 1500 B.C., one of the largest volcanic eruptions in the world took place in Santorini. This resulted in the destruction of the island and the beginning of the decline of the Minoan civilization. As time healed the wounds created by the volcano, the historic Caldera was created, a landmark of the island and of the whole world!
The restaurant 1500 B.C. is located in the historic Fira, overlooking the Aegean Sea at an altitude of 250m above sea. It looks directly at the golden sunset every day and creates images that remain engraved in your memory. 1500 B.C. symbolizes moments through the passing of the years… and such moments are offered to you from sunrise to sunset!
Despite the fact that I come from a mountainous area, from Parnassus of Central Greece, Santorini won me over and I fell in love with the island at first sight. After more than 30 years in the field of Greek cuisine and having travelled around the world, roads led me to this island and to 1500B.C. I welcome you and I hope you fall in love with it, as I did when I met my wife on the doorstep of the restaurant …
